From The Maker

A little bit about me. My name is Nicole and I am the proud owner and operator of Bark Brigade & Co.  Since I was a little girl my grandmother would say I was born to sew. She had a box of scrap materials next to her sewing machine and when I was 5 I would take a piece of fabric cut arm holes in it and turn it into a dress. At that moment she put a needle and thread into my hand and that was it I was hooked. It has been something that has always brought me joy. Now I've turned something that is a hobby into a real business.

Why dog bandanas? I had lunch with my best friend one day a couple of months ago and I was at a very low point, sad was an understatement. Even though I was surrounded by a loving family and supportive friends I was struggling mentally. She simply said, I think that your dog's bring you so much joy, you should make bandanas like you did when you first got them as puppies. But as a business. You need to sew it makes you happy. She was saying it because she has always had faith in my sewing abilities and she knew I needed to get out of the sad state I was in. This time she truly saved my life. I did days and days of research then started this company that has been this amazing adventure in a matter of months. More than anything I have so much joy entering my life. I get to talk to people everyday about their love of their pets and the love for my girls Penny and Leia. And I get to sew EVERYDAY 🥰 Then infuse all of that joy and love into each bandana I make. It has turned out to be so much more than a dog bandana company.

I'm a minority-woman entrepreneur. And proud of it! I couldn't do any of this without my loving family and friends. Thank you for allowing me to share my truth. And to share yours with me. I feel honored! And I love your pups! Stay tuned there are more things on the way
